i am pollens daughter want to put some seeds down but dont really no how to do it old trick cotton wool blah blah blah but wind factor we have abit of wind down here so what should we do? cover it or let it grow free? appreciate any advice mean time ill be puffin away on this sensimelia we live very close to marroco ha ha

I just pop my beans in two layers of toiletpaper,moisten the paper, put em inside a zip-lock and let em sit somewhere warm(on top of an electrical appliance is perfect),I don´t plant them until they show about an inch of the taproot,it seems to give me healthier seedlings(though this is probably just in my head)
I´ve only grown indoors(so far :) ) so the little knowledge I have about outdoor growing is purely theoretical,but someone will have input on the wind thing.

An inch? Isn't that a little too much?
I've heard (and read) that it's best to plant the seed once you see the root come out of the seed. The lagrer the root tip gets, the more chance of damaging it when transplanting it into your grow medium.

That's just my opinion (and experience). :)

thanks for the info appriciate that im a novice and so is my dad hes just about to order some seeds on net from holland dont no which one to go for lots of sun in spain :red:

OK, but remember: If it's illegal to be in possession of cannabis seeds in your country, make sure you send cash and don't pay by credit card. Otherwise it can be tracked back to you if the customs get their hands on it. Because of that, you should order seeds from a trusted seed shop. The seeds may be a little more expencive, but you can be sure that you get quality seeds! :P

As far as I know, the chance of getting females is just as big as getting males, unless you buy feminized seeds (which really isn't a good thing, because it often causes hermaphrodites).

A little taproot showing isn´t a problem/risk unless the little ones have gotten their roots in a tangle.
Germinating seeds release flavenoids to fight fungal and bacterial pathogens.
I think leaving them in the paper,which holds the flavenoids better than the soil/rockwool/coco/whatever your going to plant them in ,for longer give your little ones a lowstress environment to get started in.A longer root also helps the get established in the medium faster.
I´m convinced there is a diff. and that it gives me healthier seedlings.But at the end of the day the whole thing is just a matter of growers preference.
